INFJ: the lighthouse cloud

quiet, steady light for the people you care about

The lighthouse cloud is Everblue’s name for the INFJ cloud type: someone who recharges alone, leans curious, decides heart first, and plans ahead. You notice what others miss and hold it gently. You need quiet to recharge, and you tend to see where things are going before anyone says it out loud. It’s a lens, not a diagnosis.

what lighthouse clouds are like

You notice what others miss and hold it gently. You need quiet to recharge, and you tend to see where things are going before anyone says it out loud.

Lighthouse clouds recharge alone. A day full of people can be lovely and still leave you wanting an evening with the door closed, a long walk, or a bath where nobody asks you anything. Your mind leans curious and pattern-hungry, so you often sense how a situation will unfold a few steps before it does, even when you can’t quite explain how.

You decide heart first. Before choosing, you picture how it will land on the people involved, and you’ll take the slower, kinder answer over the fast, tidy one. You also like a plan. Open loops nag at you, so you settle things early, keep a quiet list in your head, and relax once the week has a shape.

Your strengths are the quiet ones: listening without rushing to fix, remembering what someone said three months ago, and seeing who a person could become before they see it themselves. People tend to tell you things they don’t tell everyone.

The growth edge is that a lighthouse spends a lot of light on passing ships and not much on itself. You can end up holding everyone else’s weather and forgetting to mention your own. It helps to say what you need out loud, and early, and to let a plan change without treating it as a small failure.

steady or stormy

Every cloud type comes with a weather suffix, read from how strongly your feelings move.

INFJ-Steady

feelings move through you like light weather; slow to rattle.

A steady lighthouse is the calm one in a crisis. You absorb a lot and it mostly settles before it shows, which people find reassuring. Just check that “settled” isn’t sometimes “stored.”

INFJ-Stormy

you feel things big and deep; your weather changes, and that is part of you.

A stormy lighthouse feels everyone’s weather on top of its own. That depth is where your insight comes from. It also means you need more quiet than most, and that’s not something to apologize for.

how lighthouse clouds tend to journal

Lighthouse clouds often write long, thoughtful entries, and many of them end up being about other people. Journaling works best for you as a place to set things down. Try turning a few questions back toward yourself.

  1. 1what did you notice about someone today that they didn’t say out loud?
  2. 2whose weather are you carrying right now, and is it yours to carry?
  3. 3what do you need this week that you haven’t asked for?
  4. 4where do you think things are heading, and what makes you sure?
  5. 5which plan would you be okay letting go of?
  6. 6when did you last do something purely for yourself?
  7. 7who sees you the way you see other people?
  8. 8what would you say if you didn’t worry about how it would land?

types that pair well, and types that challenge you

Just for fun. Any two clouds can get along; these are only the ones that tend to make the weather interesting.
