Cloud type
INTP: the puzzle cloud
curious about how everything fits together
The puzzle cloud is Everblue’s name for the INTP cloud type: someone who recharges alone, leans curious, decides head first, and goes with the flow. You turn ideas over until they click. You follow your curiosity wherever it goes and are happiest with room to think things through your own way. It’s a lens, not a diagnosis.

what puzzle clouds are like
You turn ideas over until they click. You follow your curiosity wherever it goes and are happiest with room to think things through your own way.
Puzzle clouds recharge alone, ideally with something interesting to chew on. Your mind is endlessly curious, and you’re less interested in the answer than in why the answer works. A good question can keep you happily busy for days.
You decide head first. You want it to make sense, and you’ll poke holes in an idea, including your own, until it does. Your rhythm goes with the flow. Strict schedules tend to interrupt your best thinking, so you work in bursts, follow tangents, and usually get there by a route nobody else would have picked.
Your strengths are precision and originality. You notice the thing that doesn’t fit, you explain complicated ideas simply once they’ve clicked for you, and you’re honest about what you don’t know. You’re hard to fool and easy to talk to about almost anything interesting.
The growth edge is landing the plane. Ideas can stay in the hangar while you refine them forever, and everyday tasks can feel too boring to start. It helps to pick a “good enough” point in advance. Letting people in on your thinking earlier, before it’s perfect, also helps them understand you.
steady or stormy
Every cloud type comes with a weather suffix, read from how strongly your feelings move.
INTP-Steady
feelings move through you like light weather; slow to rattle.
A steady puzzle stays cool and curious under pressure, which is great for problem-solving. Others may read that calm as distance, so a word of warmth goes a long way.
INTP-Stormy
you feel things big and deep; your weather changes, and that is part of you.
A stormy puzzle feels more than it lets on, and sometimes tries to think its way out of a feeling. Writing it down lets you look at the feeling like any other puzzle, without having to solve it.
how puzzle clouds tend to journal
Puzzle clouds often like journaling as a thinking tool, not a diary. Questions that ask you to explain, compare, or notice a pattern tend to work better than “how do you feel?”
- 1what idea have you been turning over this week?
- 2what didn’t make sense to you today?
- 3which tangent was worth it, and which wasn’t?
- 4what would “good enough” look like for the thing you’re stuck refining?
- 5what are you curious about that has nothing to do with anything?
- 6which feeling showed up today that you tried to reason away?
- 7who would enjoy hearing about what you’re thinking about?
- 8what’s one boring task that would make next week easier if you did it now?
types that pair well, and types that challenge you
Just for fun. Any two clouds can get along; these are only the ones that tend to make the weather interesting.
